Transfer rumours

City targeting Lescott; Moyes looks at Neill
Manchester City have reportedly sounded out Everton regarding Joleon Lescott and are thought to be initially offering £12m for the star defender.

The Blues are clearly not interested at that price but rumours suggest they may be tempted to cash in for around £20m.

While useful to a club with Everton's limited budget, few would regard £20m as enough for one of the Blues' most import, an England international to boot, and many fans feel that moneybags City should shell out an awful lot more for a player of his calibre.

David Moyes, meanwhile, is reported to be interested in talking to Lucas Neill after the fullback rejected a new contract at West Ham. The Australian international is 31 but could be a useful addition given Everton's weakness at right back.
